About the Club

The Archers of the Tees is an historical longbow association located in Darlington, Co. Durham in the River Tees area of North East England. Our shooting ground is located at Carmel School, Darlington. The aim of the club is to promote the longbow and research the historical background of the sport. Our aim is to shoot in the traditional way as and when possible and to promote all aspects of wooden bow archery and the making thereof. The club also promotes all aspects of archery locally and specifically junior archery up to the age of 18.

The club organises archery events in their own right and also participates in outside competitions. These can include events organised by the GNAS (Grand National Archery Society); BLBS (British Longbow Society); NFAS (National Field Archery Society) and can include target, roving, and clout, also field, popinjay, wand, archery darts and archery golf. The more varied and challenging the archery the better! Membership of the GNAS and BLB is recommended (but not mandatory) to allow members to take part in most events. However, AOTT has its own insurance which covers us for our own competitions "Have A Go" and promotional and fund raising events.

Membership to the club is by invitation only. Please go to the contacts section below and get in touch with either the Chairman or the Secretary.
